On April 18 2008, the Federal Government announced its intention to ban bisphenol A (BPA) in baby bottles. Health Canada's risk assessment report on BPA concluded that BPA released from dental sealants and composites is extremely small in comparison to other sources.
Any restrictions or regulations on products that may release BPA will focus on polycarbonate baby bottles and infant formula containers, and not dental materials.
