Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) Pays at 100 Percent

Starting April 1, 2008, Veterans Affairs is reimbursing dentists up to 100 percent of the current ODA Suggested Fee Guide for VAC-covered services.
VAC's dental program is designed to provide basic preventive services and prosthetic care within the limits of dollar amounts and time frequencies. Dentists should become familiar with VAC's dental program and all its limitations to determine exactly what services are covered.

Any fees for treatment services not covered by the VAC dental program are the responsibility of the veteran, and dentists should discuss payment for non-covered services with the veteran and obtain agreement for these services before treatment is initiated.
To find out if a recommended treatment is covered under VAC's dental program, dentists may call the Treatment Authorization Centre (TAC) for information at:
1-866-811-6060 (English)
1-866-812-5050 (French)
